Don't Leave Money on the Table: High School Seniors and FAFSA

As Rockingham County high school seniors begin to think about their lives after high school, one important action should be taken right now: completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

FAFSA is the gateway to grants, scholarships, and loans, and is available to all students regardless of their family's income.

Every Rockingham County senior has someone in their corner to help them with FAFSA through the Carolina College Advising Corps.

These near-peer trained advisors provide guidance and support to walk students through FAFSA, making the process less stressful for students and families.

RCEF believes in the power of education to change lives, and financial aid can make the difference of whether a student earns more income over their lifetime because they pursued post-high school education.

Thanks to support from the Reidsville Area Foundation and the Rockingham County Education Foundation (RCEF), a College advisor from the Carolina College Advising Corps is in every RCS high school in Rockingham County. These recent college graduates provide essential guidance and support to help these Rockingham County high school students navigate the college admissions process and access the financial aid they need.

Find the college advisor for your school or make a donation to support the Carolina College Advising program in Rockingham County, by visiting RCEF’s website at www.helprockinghamstudents.org.

RCEF is a 501(c)(3) with a mission to provide leadership, advocacy and program resources to increase the education levels of residents to make our community thrive as an attractive place to live, work and do business.
