Thinking about going back to school?

Returning to school as an adult can seem like a daunting task, but with the right resources and support, it can be a fulfilling and rewarding experience. Regardless of whether an individual dropped out of high school or never had the opportunity to pursue higher education, it is never too late to start.

The first step in this process is visiting the admissions department of the community college of interest. This is an important initial step, as the admissions staff can provide information on the programs and courses offered at the college and assist in navigating the enrollment process.

Rockingham Community College, for instance, is an open admissions two-year institution that provides credit courses, degree programs, and continuing education.

Do NOT let your high school grades or SAT scores or even whether you graduated high school stop you from going back to school and improving your life.

Financial aid is available for those who need assistance in paying for their education. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can be filled out to determine eligibility for financial aid from the government. Pell Grants, a type of federal aid that does not have to be repaid, can be used to cover tuition, books, and other expenses.

Community colleges, such as Rockingham Community College, often have an "open door" policy. This means they welcome students of all ages and backgrounds, regardless of their academic history. They offer a variety of programs and courses, many of which can be completed online or at a flexible pace.

Community colleges are also typically more affordable than four-year universities, making them an excellent choice for adult learners who are working and need to balance their education with other responsibilities.

Going back to school as an adult can be a valuable opportunity to improve career prospects and personal goals. It can change your entire life.

With the help of financial aid programs like the FAFSA and Pell Grants and the flexible and affordable options offered by community colleges, individuals can turn their education dreams into a reality. The first step in this journey is visiting the admissions department of a local community college and letting them know about the desire to return to school.
