We support educators

Principal's Fund: provides up to $65,000 across Rockingham County Schools to principals in order to help students leap barriers to academic success. Last school year, those funds enabled principals to provide reading glasses, technology, clothing, food, and much more to students who otherwise would have gone without that vital support. This program is made possible by the Reidsville Area Foundation.

Martin Luther King Day of Service: One of the best ways to support teachers is to support the learning environment. Each January, we partner with a Rockingham County School to bring in volunteers and resources to fill the wish list of school principals for facilities improvement such as murals, grounds clean up, spiffing up students' desks and much more. MLK Day of Service is widely supported by the community and has included volunteers from the Rockingham County Superintendent's Office, Walmart, Dan River Basin Association, Rockingham County Arts Council, Lowes Home Improvement, local Rotaries, and so many more organizations and businesses.

This year (2020), we anticipate that the COVID-19 pandemic will prevent us from holding a traditional MLK Day of Service and we are looking for alternative ways to help improve local schools. If you have an idea you would like to share, please contact us.
